As for the narrative and characters, I’m happy for more needless celebrities to fill the ranks and provide us with a story that makes no sense, but we happily come along for the ride anyway. Some of my casting choices include Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Jared Leto, Brendan Fraser, and Adam Sandler. Let’s get weird. I’d be more than satisfied with more of the same, but with Kojima we know the end result will be something else entirely. Just look at Metal Gear Solid - across five main entries and several spin-offs not one of them has the same underlying formula. Stealth, the CODEC, and a few other systems remain untouched, but there are always unexpected new ideas front and centre making each game fundamentally distinct.
Even Sam's experience during Death Stranding became a reality for some. Sam seldom receives suitable rewards, or even much thanks from those he delivers to, despite being plunged into dangerous situations repeatedly. This matches those who put their lives on the line for delivery and sanitation purposes, employees were applauded as "essential workers" despite rarely seeing improvements to wages and working conditions. In a way, Sam reflects the performative praise, yet material injustice faced by such workers during the COVID-19 pande
Kojima has continued to stoke Death Stranding 2 rumors on Twitter where, in October, he posted a picture of himself with Eric Lempel and Craig Malanka, who are the top executives of PlayStation's marketing department. Many saw this as a hint that Kojima Productions may be partnering with Sony for something big. Not long after, he posted a picture of himself with the head of PlayStation Studios Hermen Hulst, and with Elle Fanning in a video call. Sleuthing fans noticed that Geoff Keighley was also part of the video call. In both images, he is wearing a shirt that features the same baby doll that often appears in Death Strandi
Featuring in 5 of the DOOM games, the BFG9000 stands for something that is too rude to utter, but the picture is pretty clear on what that could be. The gun itself, a bulky steel-grey gun, fires giant balls of green plasma. It’s the most powerful weapon in the games and acts like a nuclear device that can power through enemies like a knife through but
Feeling alone in a vast universe can be as unpleasant as it sounds. There’s also the fact that players could find hostile planets and pirates, which could plunder their loot. There’s also a game mode where if players die, the game ends, meaning they lose everything they have worked for over the ye
I can’t even begin to think where Kojima will take things, but the socially dependent delivery system present in Sam Porter Bridges’ journey is one that controls beautifully, giving every step meaning as you stumble towards your destination, careful to avoid losing everything you’ve worked for. Fellow couriers would often come into view, while you’d also need to deal with evil monsters and bandits, but so much of the game was tranquil in its atmosphere, allowing the world to become our own. I adore this isolation, but I’d equally welcome expansion with deeper characters and more varied environments that aren’t just a bland mixture of rain, mountains, hills, and desert all populated by the same mixture of spooky monsters you’re desperately trying to avoid. The core systems are great, but with further refinement they could be something special.
There’s no need for a chainsaw on the end of a gun, it’s entirely impractical, but it gets a pass for being so cool . No wonder most characters in Gears of War are full of muscle because they have to carry around a gigantic impractical
During the 14 main story episodes of Death Stranding , players come to understand more about the nature of the event that changed the world and reshaped the landscape. They see the duality of Bridget Strand, as "America’s last president" tasks her adopted son Sam to reconnect the country, even while the Amelie aspect of her persona acts as an agent of extinction. Current American political leaders face a similar choice, as some act to worsen Read the Full Report divide and erode hard-earned civil liberties, leaving others the unenviable task of trying to repair that damage. The America of today is unrecognizable as the USA of a decade ago, just as the America depicted in Death Stranding is wholly alien and sinister. For all its infamously tedious and demanding gameplay, **Death Stranding ** is a breezy power fantasy in a sense, as it depicts a scenario where one man can heal and reconnect America simply by walking while carrying a heavy l
Trust it the genius Hideo Kojima to come up with such a silly weapon for Death Stranding . The game requires the protagonist, Sam, to go to the bathroom and bathe. It turns out that Sam’s bodily fluids can be used as weapons against the mysterious threat of the BTs. This includes his toilet wa
